Inside an Unquiet Mind 2

Pembroke College Cambridge, 18 & 19 March 2011

This powerful production was performed at the New Cellars, Pembroke College, Cambridge as part of the Cambridge University Science Festival and was featured on the BBC Radio Four Show The Today Programme.

Set in a day room of a psychiatric hospital, this innovative multimedia production explored some of the experiences of living with mental ill-health and outlined the scientific research currently being undertaken to try to develop better treatments. The production included news-styled televised recordings, video premieres depicting personalised accounts of living with mental ill-health, interspersed with live scientific presentations. The second half of the production showcased live theatrical musical pieces before concluding with the opportunity for the audience to pose questions to the cast.

This production arose from a unique partnership bringing together those directly affected by mental ill-health, those working in the mental health care setting, and those undertaking neuroscientific research.
